Released from the grinding wheels of hyperchaos, MACHINE HARM is an aural experience of the fringes of digital bedlam. This music was constructed through a series of ongoing experiments since 2019. What you’ll hear is the event horizon of organized sound: ultra-parameterized feedback to evoke the screaming of a machine and its untold misery at my hands. The ideal machine suffers from its own design, aware of its own machinations and yet helplessly tied to fate. PLUG THE MACHINE BACK INTO ITSELF, TEACH IT A NEW MEANING OF SENSE- or the lack thereof. The churning wheel of digital pulsations is unstoppable and unending. The source material for MACHINE HARM constitutes hundreds of hours of recordings of these fraudulent machines designed at my hand.

Any illusion of time-domain coherence is a lie constructed at the hands of madness. DECIMALITY: the perceptual deconstruction of sense {the lies told through the heaving of microcosmic chaos} _SYNTATIC DEBATE_ of course the rebirth of sound is a fine sculptu{INTERRUPT: MORTALITY PANIC. MORTALITY PANIC. SELF-REPRESENTATION IN BITSPACE DENIED. COSMIC RELAPSE INTO A GENERATIVE EXPANSE OF INFINITELY MANY POSSIBLE STATES IMMINE{DEBACLE OF INQUIRY - a tie into dialectics of mind and body. urge We discover within the mind an innate need to seek order from chaos. By understanding how this (this being the innate need and all things relating to this need {CONVOLUTED. IN PAIN. OBSESSION OVER MISTAKES, PREOCCUPATION TOWARDS THE VALIDATION OF SELF. -|& THE DESIRE TO FEEL ACCEPTED IS AS EQUALLY VALID OF A BINARY STATE AS ANY OTHER SATISFIABLE STATEMENT. } -> {}{|sights set on the paradise of the replica (ecstatic)|}{}-> DE-INTELLECTUALIZE AND REINVIGORATE THE EXPERIENCE. They wander aimlessly into the cold, ignoring their motherless imagination and the weak hold of confidence that some thoughts are not productive}- BRUTALIZE THE MACHINE_ NEW EFFICACY _BROUGHUPONBYTHYSELF!!MISERY!!MISERY!! detached and floating: the hum of mechanical mysteries is only seen by the ear.

artist bio:
Hamish Robb is an Ohio-based experimental composer and guitarist. They work primarily with guitar, electronics, and voice. Their work in electronic music at Oberlin led them to direct the Oberlin Synthesizer Ensemble in spring 2022 under the direction of Tom Lopez. Most recently, they are featured as the lead guitarist on Michael Gaspari’s album On the Bridge. Their music is influenced by their love for progressive rock, analog synthesizers, and inclination for chaos.
