The Minotaur 10:32
The minotaur waits Shaped from the glow Polishing the seeds He dug from the snow The minotaur waits With notches I his nose Swallowing the thing That drank from his clothes the minotaur drinks the hollow of his fist crushing with his thumb the jaw of a fish the minotaur sits funneling his lips swaying with the club strung from his hip the minotaur was born clutching at my ribs muzzling my breast and digging at my wrist the minotaur rent the columns of his crib the very night I planned on asphyxiating him the minotaur waits lapping at the swill singeing off his wounds in the ducts of a mill the minotaur sits folding out the gills handling with care as he always will

Are you afraid of me Hubcap eyes and swung out cheeks Must every friendship be The ramparts of some dogged siege With my ceramic teeth I pulled the veins from every leaf Funded privately I drilled the sap from every tree Are you afraid of me The implications of my chivalry Whatever they may be We’ll dull the edges of our cutlery Must every friend ship be Dueling bids for neutrality Funded privately I’m on the verge of some monstrosity

something it goes communicating with plagues yawning out from taverns sleeping with elbows it sits on its gutting like a train car old with curtains and a porch now the train cars are none of that mesh chairs pilot windows they shutter past one another thrashing from their reels windows aligning for only moments one after another a spectator of highways see these pickup trucks that shoulder entire refineries on their back wheels see these Sci fi Sedans that encapsulate their decades in their efforts to surpass them see these coupled corduroy shipping containers lead by goateed trollies with goateed pilots and Elmo gaping mouth strung to the truck’s muzzle a retired messiah I associate tin with the sacrificings in a pediatric office please take off your shirt wear that gown lie down on the table with the paper strip the strip renews itself for some reason the stickers are always planetary Saturn seems intimately orbited by a white and silver gash in the wall against which the sun looks like a burn victim I look animated the doctor is gone kneeling in some other cave massaging scenes of wax into their wall he walks out into what goes and waits for sound to prove it the cave’s warm light hangs on him nestled in the blades of his turning shirt something out there- crusted on the sleeping beaks misted with the holographic mountains something it goes
7.
Hear my staggered breath in pause Watch these rigid muscles thaw Clout my blood in pipes of rust Knot the stem between my lungs carbonate this stagnant wine help me drink my measured time fossiled rails sink and climb sloping grasses fold and dive somewhere in these strung-out trees spread my gutted subway dreams swollen names with bolted seems sprawl across these vented frames and I scratch cells from bulging foam with fingers died from leather torn float my grave on painted ferns grind these capsules from my horns hold me in your dampened glow bag my limbs for numbered rows planetary microscopes probe the sweat scraped from my clothes spoon the frosting of my eyes tong my dreams of sculpted ice leave these worms to clutch and dry the songs I wrote before I died
8.
My eyes went numb And so will yours Lashes jut like darkened thorns Calm those lips With swollen words Clean the mercy from your horns Show you to our torpid lord his sulfur nails are waning shores he held his lips to every word my eyes are numb and so are yours mountains died when you were born no one knows you anymore
