Decommissioned

lyrics

Frames in my hands
Sand bags in my mouth

With Sulphur on my breath
I’ll vaccinate these clouds

The sun chafes to blue
I blink away failed tattoos

The scriptures in my spit
Spell a sunken vessel truth
-
But I know its use
I feel my coral cloaked youth

I know my codependence
Like the fringes of a bruise

I’ll go collecting retinas
Like coasters from the past

Hand painted soldiers
Lingerie for your glass
-
I feel you here
For I can still surrender

You need my resignations
Like I need your even temper

For my caliphate
I recite the many answers

As to why our terse religion
Was built around my failures
-
See my scything smile
Slipping tides of wheat

My overhanging nails
Build a resume of yeast

Plaque ate my bristles
Scurvy ate my teeth

The chimneys look like stubble
On my decommissioned face
